Sights Unseen Paranormal

We don't jump at ghosts.
Graveyards
Most cemeteries aren't haunted regardless of what popular culture--and some paranormal "experts"--may lead you to believe. We don't spend a lot of time investigating graveyards, though when we do, we sincerely appreciate and respect these revered and often historic places.

Don't trespass, be respectful, and obtain the necessary permissions if you are entering a graveyard for purposes other than visiting a deceased friend or loved one, or conducting historical research. One of the quickest way to give ghost hunters a bad name is to trespass in a cemetery.

Below are links to some of the most infamous haunted graveyards in the USA.

This well-known haunted New England cemetery--with many unmarked graves--has been extensively explored by many paranormal investigators with intriguing results.
There is an extensive history and multiple reports--available on the Web--of a variety of possibly paranormal anomalies captured in this graveyard.

During our investigation, a young lady in a passing car screamed "The ghosts are going to kill you!"  Apparently the location is well-known as a paranormal hot spot even with non-ghost hunters.

Though there is no real scientific evidence specific to paranormal activity at this location, there is an extensive history of anecdotal reports and the typical pseudscience presented by most paranormal investigators--including us. For an accurate, unbiased, and unflinching summary this location, visit our friends at The Beyond.

Investigation
Our investigation occurred on a pleasant Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 6:30pm and included an experienced freelance investigator, as well as the members of our group. We thoroughly explored the grounds using digital and film cameras, EMF detectors, audio recorders, and a variety of other equipment. We did experience instances of batteries draining in this location, which is thought to be indicative of paranormal activity.

Photographic Evidence
Following are some interesting photographs taken during the investigation.

Front Gate Anomaly
Below is a photograph, along with it's negative--taken using an IR filter--that were taken of the area near the front gate.

Several team members reported seeing and sensing a strong energy in this location, EMF anomalies were documented, and one investigator heard the sound of movement without an apparent source.

Taken using an IR filter on a digital camera.

Though inconclusive, a possible anomaly was identified in the photograph--an opaque shape near the rock wall. We don't believe that this is part of a bush in the background and it appears to be obstructing the view of the rock behind it.

Red Figures
Taken during mid-afternoon, the strange photograph below was taken using a 35mm film camera near the area where a hooded figure as been reported. None of the other photographs on this roll of film showed any anomalies.

EVPs/Audio Anomalies
This location is reported to be an excellent site for capturing EVPs and it did not disappoint. Click on the players below to listen to our audio 'captures.'

Conversation and Singing
The following is an especially chilling EVP of a conversation, as well as what sounds like children singing. The 'singing' was captured on two different recording devices positioned over 40 feet away from each other.

The investigator who captured the conversation reported:

"I was on the left side of the cemetery by myself again and was scanning some of the unmarked graves. My EMF detector gave a quick spike to 0.08 and I decided to stop and ask a question. You'll hear me, then a small pop and then two distinct voices. To me it sounds like:

1st Man - 'We can afford to put you here in a corner cell(?)'

2nd Man (froggy voice) - 'Who?'
1st Man - 'Who do you think?'
Then in the background it sounds like a 3rd man yelling from far away, 'Just walk right in'
A second or two later you hear the 2nd Man say something like 'Small grave?'"

Laugh
This laugh was captured near the northeast corner of the cemetery where people have reported seeing a hooded figure. The investigator asks if it could make it's presence known and this laugh was recorded

First-Person Accounts

Several investigators had personal experiences including feelings of being watched, hearing sound or movement without an apparent source, and the sensing of several strange energy anomalies.

An energy-sensitive team members'  hands become
'activated' in the area near the front gate. Note the mottled appearance.

The energy felt at the location was very strong, variable, and correlated with other groups reports of similar anomalies. Even our 'non-energy sensitive' team members were able to feel the phenomena.

We have to say that this location exceeded expectations as far as what we experienced. Apparently, the reports are true, Gilson Road Cemetery appears to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in the Northeast.

Unnamed Cemetery
Central Vermont
September 19, 2009, September 11, 2010

One of the oldest burial grounds in New England, this reputedly haunted cemetery is well-known for reports of possible paranormal activity including:

*feelings of being watched     *sightings of 3 bell-shaped white figures who said "Get out"

*a large shadowy figure chasing people out of the graveyard         *EVPs have been recorded

*Sounds of movement without an apparent source         *Unexplained Music          *Disembodied Voices

The cemetery is the final resting place of a murder victim (1986) This case remains unsolved and the investigation is still open at this time. Below are some links relevant to the case.

Investigation 9/11/2010
Conducted approximately a year after our first investigation of this location, the weather was extremely pleasant. This graveyard is a compelling place and was often in our minds over the past year. Several team members have reported having dreams about the location.

Though we didn't capture any photographic or video evidence, we did record a staggering number of EVPs. This coincides with reports of hearing voices and lends credence to the possibility that this location is haunted.

At the grave of the unsolved murder victim, an investigator heard a disembodied voice that reportedly said "John, dear." Once this information was shared with another team member more familiar with the story, it was discovered that the victim's husband was an avid collector of John Deere tractors.

An investigator has a family plot in this cemetery. Another investigator visiting this plot heard gospel music. An uncle buried in this plot was in a gospel music band, a fact that the investigator shared after the phenomena was reported.

EVPs
We've made an attempt to interpret what the EVPs say, but listen and make your own determination. Some of very difficult to hear so use headphones for the best results.

Investigation 9/14/2009
This investigation occurred on a clear Saturday evening. The temperature started at a pleasant 64 degrees, dropping to a chilly 48 degrees by the time the investigation wrapped up.

Several investigators' batteries went dead during the investigation which is believed to be indicative of paranormal activity, though it certainly could have been due to the rapid drop in temperature.

Our results included several strange photographs of mist, sightings of a possible apparition, EVPs, as well as sighting of a UFO-type anomaly.

First-Person Accounts
Apparition Sighting?
Approximately two hours into the investigation a team member saw what appeared to be a solid figure running between a tree and some gravestones with its arm upraised, but said nothing to other team members at the time.

About an hour later, another two team members reported the exact same thing in the same location, that of a solid figure wearing clothes--possibly a male--with its arm upraised rushing by the same spot.

UFO/Light Beam
Multiple team members saw what appeared to be a beam of light coming down from the sky.

The next day, we discovered that this phenomena was reported by multiple witnesses throughout the New England, as well as along the eastern seaboard.

After further research, we determined that this was probably the vapor trail from an experimental NASA missile launch from  Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Click the link below to read more.

Orbs

We don't consider orbs evidence of the paranormal--given that--the picture above was taken shortly after we recorded several EMF spikes, team members felt a strange 'energy,' and someone almost impaled themselves on the rod iron fence.

EVPs/Audio Anomalies

Unsolved Murder
This EVP was recorded at the grave of the murder victim mentioned above. This class of EVP (C) is nearly impossible to make out and--as with any  EVP--is not conclusive evidence of anything.
