Hotels, Inns, and Museums

Because of the historical nature of these properties, hotels, inns, and museums are some of our favorite locations to investigate.

We also enjoy meeting the owners, staff, and--in the case of inns and hotels--sampling the wonderful food.

The investigation took place on 10/26/08--from 7pm to 12pm--in response to staff reports of feelings of being watched, seeing shadows and apparitions, guests' reports of hearing voices, as well as a host of other interesting phenomena.

First-Person Accounts
Too numerous to detail here, reports include that of a woman ghost that haunts room #3. Several guests tell stories of her sitting on the bed and keeping them company with guests.

Multiple apparitions have also been reported, including a woman walking through the parlor, as well as another in seventies attire sitting at a table in the ballroom.

The investigators experienced cold spots and drafts without apparent cause, dowsing rod activity, and recorded several EVPs.

Below is a photograph taken in the ballroom of a chair where an employee reported the apparition of a woman in seventies attire. An investigator reported seeing a shadow rush by the location immediately before the photo was taken.

Electronic Voice Phenomena
Click on the players below to listen to an EVP recorded in room #3--where the ghost of the woman reportedly resides. The voice apparently responds to the sound of some dishes dropped in the kitchen.

"What is that?"

Amplified slightly

During the investigation, we split up into smaller groups and didn't discuss our experiences until half-way through our visit.

All of us encountered anomalies in certain rooms that matched up with the reports of guests and employees.

In the upstairs parlor, in full view of several  investigators, a computer screen turn on by itself and the cursor move across the screen. Though this event could have been triggered remotely, it still bears mentioning.

Orbs generally aren't paranormal.
Note how this dust orb appears
to be passing through the floor

Multiple staff and guests reported experiencing activity in the same rooms. This correlates with the locations where our investigators encountered strange phenomena. Rooms 3, 7, 8, and 11 appeared to be very active.

Further investigation is warranted at this wonderful location. Sights Unseen Paranormal wishes to thank the gracious staff for their hospitality and time.

Unnamed Inn,
southern New Hampshire

Some of the strongest evidence of paranormal activity we've ever captured was at this historic inn.
There are multiple reports--stretching back for years--from the inn keepers, employees, and guests of this famous New England inn.

The whole area maybe a hot-bed for paranormal activity as a nearby location was featured on an episode of television's Ghost Hunters.

First-person reports include multiple sightings of apparitions--one being a 'white lady' in the ballroom--objects moving, music, voices, and a variety of other possible paranormal activity.

Our experiences included; hearing music, seeing shadows, unexplainable sounds and voices, strong electromagnetic fields, and hearing objects moving without an apparent source.

Visit our debunking page for an explanation
of this strange photograph.

Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP)--Voices

Raw Video Here

These "voices" were recorded on two different sources positioned approximately 20 feet away from each other--a digital recorder and a tape recorder.

Analyzed by a world-famous EVP expert--who acted as a consultant on the movie White Noise-- the voices appear to be referencing the investigators. We hear "Ask it, ask it, who's that?"

Sounds--Coins Jingling

Raw Video Here

This startling audio was captured shortly after the voices. Our investigator states:

"It felt like something was in the room with me and I knew something was going to happen. I took a sharp breath and said 'Oooooohhh baby!' Suddenly, what sounded like a bunch of coins jingling erupted from the air all around me. This was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had."

DEBUNKED: Thank you to the person who posted the comment on Youtube that pointed out that this is probably the sound of brown bats.

"Pink Museum"

There are multiple first-person accounts of activity including associated with this location including lights going on/off, movement of objects, voices, feelings of not being alone, footsteps, and the smell of pipe tobacco.

The museum has been investigated by multiple paranormal teams including Soul Seekers Paranormal Society, E.C.T.O. Paranormal, and Souhegan Paranormal.

"Watchful Barn"

NOTE: The museum has completed its paranormal studies of the location so ghost hunters need not apply.

Mist in the Kitchen

In a series of four pictures, a fog-like anomaly appeared on the door to a stairway, above in the kitchen, then in two pictures of a library down the hall. The investigator taking the photographs reported:

"It felt like I wasn't alone, almost as if something was watching me. At one point the door knob jiggled and I smelled pipe tobacco, and there was the sound of scratching on the wall that obviously wasn't a mouse or other animal. There were also a lot of shadows moving around the door and in and out of the kitchen."

Multiple EVPs were recorded in the area including what sounded like a woman screaming and a man's voice saying "I'm okay." Reports of a woman crying have also been reported.

Orb in the Sleigh Room
The strange thing about this picture isn't the orb--probably a bug--but the fact that shortly after this picture was taken a door knob jiggled and the smell of pipe tobacco filled the air.

More paranormal activity has been consistently documented at the Rindge Historical Society Museum then any other location we've investigated.

We highly encourage everyone to visit to see this quintessential example of a New England historical society museum.

Thank you to the board of directors for allowing us access to one of our favorite places.
