Saxtons River Inn
Visit this excellent example of a
New England country inn.
They have top-of-the-line food
and hospitality, and the staff was exceptional.
If you want to visit, you can request
a specific room. Say "hi" to the ghost
that may keep you company in room 3.
This investigation occurred on 10/26/08 and was conducted in response to reports of feeling uneasy, feelings of being watched, seeing shadows and apparitions, and guests' reports of hearing voices.
First Person Accounts
Too numerous to detail here, the accounts included reports of a woman ghost in room 3 that will sit on the bed and talk to you if you stay in that room. Several apparitions have also been sighted including a woman walking through the parlor, and a woman in seventies attire sitting in the ballroom. The investigators experienced severe cold spots, dowsing rod activity, and recorded several EVPs.
Photographs
We didn't get much in the way of photographic evidence, however, below is a strange photo captured in the ballroom where an employee reported an apparition of a woman in seventies attire sitting in a chair. An investigator reported seeing a shadow rush by this location shortly before taking this picture. Though this could possibly be caused by a lack of light in the background, i.e. the flash didn't reach that far, no shadows were observed in nearly identical pictures taken immediately before or after this photo.

We did get some very strange "orb" pictures, including photos of them emerging from the floor and door frames, but we don't count them as potential evidence.
Saxtons River EVP
We recorded some strange audio anomalies. Below is an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) recorded in room 3. Listen closely to hear a voice respond to some dishes being dropped in the kitchen downstairs.
"What is that?"
Here is again, isolated and amplified a bit.
The most compelling evidence from this investigation was the fact that we split up as groups, and didn't discuss any "hot spots" beforehand. Each of us experienced anomalies in certain rooms independently, including feelings cold drafts without a discernible cause, extreme cold spots, and dowsing rod activity. A computer screen also turned on, and a cursor was observed to move across the screen.
During interviews with the staff during the investigation, everyone involved had experienced activity in specific rooms that correlated with first person accounts of staff, guests, and investigators. Rooms 3, 7, 8, and 11 appeared to be very active.
Further investigation is warranted in this wonderful inn.
