Cottage-style Victorian, circa 1908
This 4000+ square foot cottage-style Victorian was built in 1908 and features all the original woodwork,
a granite fireplace in the butlers room, ans a ballroom on the third floor. The history is not well-known
by the current home owners, however there were some belongings in the residence upon purchase, including furniture and other various items. Our investigation included the grounds as well as
the residence.
We'd like to thank the homeowners for inviting us as well as assisting us in the analysis of the evidence.
The following phenomena has been reported by the homeowners:
--Shadows and apparitions have been seen by the homeowners as well as guests
--Footsteps and voices have been heard
--Cigar smoke has been both smelled and seen
--Feelings of uneasiness, being watched, and not being alone
--Extensive history of reports dating back to the 1960s
The investigation indicated that there appears to be a high-level of paranormal activity occurring at the residence and our results coincided closely with the phenomena reported by the clients. Further investigation of this location is warranted.
First-Person Reports
There were areas in the house where multiple investigators reported feeling very uneasy, nauseous or ill, overwhelming sadness, and intense feelings of energy accompanied by intense cold. We also saw shadows rushing by and heard footsteps near/on the basement stairs and encountered unexplained noises in the ballroom.
The butlers room, the maids room, the basement, and a bedroom where a dog had died after having been abandoned by the previous owner appeared to be the most active areas, though activity was reported throughout the house, as well as on the grounds.
Photographs
We took hundreds of photographs, several of which may have caught legitimate paranormal activity. However, as with the vast majority of photographs showing strange "anomalies," most were inconclusive, if not readily debunked.
Consider the non-paranormal photos below. The pictures of the figures are probably matrixing--the brains attempt to make sense out of ambiguous visual stimuli such as dirt on a window. The photographs of the orbs are probably all dust or in one case, a bug. The photograph of the mist may be condensation of the investigator's breath or water vapor in the air illuminated by the camera's flash.
We did capture at least one photograph that is possibly paranormal in origin and could be that of an apparition.

Video
With the same digital camera used to capture the photograph above, an investigator recorded video footage of what appears to be an apparition of a semi-transparent figure. In the video--taken in the same location as the photograph above--the anomaly manifests, then appears to rush out of the right side of the frame.
EMF Activity
Typical electromagnetic fields were found throughout the house that were obviously due to wiring, light fixtures, outlets, and junction boxes.
In the basement stairwell--where several investigators felt uneasy, nauseous, and saw a shadow--there was wiring running up the center of the low ceiling which could possibly account for the phenomena, however it should be noted that this is the area where the apparition video above was recorded.
There was the usual electromagnetic field around the electrical box in the basement however the wiring coming out of the box was shielded quite well probably isn't the cause of the owners--and investigators-- feelings of not being alone while in the basement.
Overall,
the house appeared to have a good electrical system without a lot of
leakage. This coincides with the owners report that the house had all new electrical. Given that, we did encounter EMF activity in various
locations of the house that coincided with the locations of our personal
experiences and those of the home owners. These were primarily short duration
events--typical of your average anomalous EMF --however
several of these did coincide with other possibly paranormal activity
including EVPs.
We did encounter several very strange electrical anomalies which are described below.
Electrical Activity in the Butlers Room
In the butler's room, an intense magnetic field was detected near the right side of the granite fireplace. This field was so strong, consistent, and of such duration that we felt it had to be an electrical source such as a junction box, though the owner insisted that there was no wiring in that area. Several EVPs were recorded at this time, and unexplicable, this electrical field disappeared later in the investigation.
At another point in the investigation a similarly intriguing electrical phenomena was discovered in the same room. As two investigators sat on a bed paging through the old photo album--found in a residence nearby--a KII meter, which is a type of EMF detector, showed a very strong and surprisingly long duration field. Below is a video of this event.
The field occurred between the two investigators and was centered on the bed. It persisted--with some fluctuations--as long as they continued to look at the photo album. It was clearly not caused by any obvious electrical source, and as above, at least one Class A EVP was recorded at this time (see Irene audio below).
Audio
Multiple EVPs and unexplained voices were recorded during the investigation and represent some of the strongest evidence of possible paranormal activity we captured. Though often EVPs are not very clear, we naturally attempt to determine what they are saying. We recorded voices of what appear to be males, females, children, and in one case, a non-existent cat.

6/20/09: During this investigation a team member discovered an unfinished arrowhead near an old cistern that had been covered up with dirt and a wishing well placed on top. This coincides with the reports of a native American spirit haunting the grounds. Multiple shadow figures have been observed congregating around the well, primarily in the evenings.

Apparition Photograph
The photograph below may be paranormal and possibly that of an apparition. It is significant for several reasons; the blue/white mist-like streak is similar to those which appear in other photographs taken by the home owner, there are multiple first-person reports of possibly paranormal activity in this area, and video of a similar phenomena was recorded on these stairs.
During the investigation, footsteps were heard and a shadow was observed near the stairs, and several EVPs were recorded in the area. The dark smudge "on" the wall is not due to inconsistencies in paint or dirt, and appears to be part of the anomaly.

We did have another static video camera in the area and were able to confirm that the anomaly was not due the shadow of an investigator or caused by light from a flashlight or other source such as light coming in a window. The anomaly appeared on the source video once.

Primarily for reconnaissance and metal detection, this investigation included the outbuildings and grounds of a private residence. Originally on the other side of the road, the house was moved to its current location by a team of oxen in 1777.
--The residence is reported to have multiple spirits including that of a protective native American brave.
--Various apparitions have been sighted.
--Objects have been observed moving.
--Footsteps, knocking, and voices have been heard.
--"Shadow people" have been sighted on the property around the old well.
--Strange lights been sighted on the grounds.

Analysis of the photographs indicate that it is not swamp gas--which has been photographed near the property previously. It is also probably not a satellite, space junk, or a planet. Note that the trails are due to camera movement--and was visible for over 30 minutes.
Further details need to be gathered, including documenting more in-depth accounts from the home owners. The homeowners also have video of the object that we will post in the future.
At this time our best guess is that the object is an airplane. There are multiple flight paths over the area that includes public and military airspace. The reports do coincide with with a craft moving perpendicular to the angle of observation along known flight paths.
Further research needs to be completed on this historic residence.
